WORLD GAS CONFERENCE, SCALABLE EXHIBITION STAND
BRIEF
The brief was to design a custom built exhibition stand that can be modified to fit different footprints so that it could be used in 3 different oil & gas conferences over three different countries. As each conference was in a different country and need to fit to a different footprint, the exhibit also had to be both scalable and transportable.
The exhibit had to house two large meeting rooms, catering facilities, storage and staff rooms as well and using technology in a way that showcases Chevrons high-tech capability to explore and operate in a way that preserves the surroundings in which they working. The use of recycled materials where possible was important. The stand also had to be strongly branded with the use of graphic display panels and AV presentations where possible.
RATIONALE
This stand was designed to encourage communication and dialogue by creating individual areas of discovery, privacy and convenience with both the hosts and the geusts in mind. This was achieved without enclosing the stand and whilst maintaining an open and spacious feel. The look and feel of the exhibit uses the cleanliness of the Chevron brand, and uses natural textures and state of the art technology to highlight the importance that human energy and global technology can have a positive impact on a sustainable environment.
There is an area for every occasion whether it be an informal chat in the hospitality area or a formal meeting in one of the large meeting rooms. The exhibit was furnished with environmentally certified, natural furniture carefully selected for the specific purpose of the space. The materials and furniture selected make this stand feel homely and comfortable. The centrally positioned rooms allow for the entire exhibit to feel open without blocking off complete sides of the stand which in-turn, encourages foot-fall. And every space has been carefully designed to have its own purpose.
The Conference Room focal point was the Central tower highlighting chevron’s Global status using the latest technology to create the 3D operations globe. The purpose of which was to highlight Chevrons projects dotted in remote areas over the globe. The large spacious rooms created excellent branding opportunities with ‘pockets of interest’ surrounding them.
The structure itself was designed to be architecturally interesting from every angle encouraging discovery and highlighting diversity.

3D OPERATIONS GLOBE
The 2.5 metre (8.2 feet) 3D globe seen in the center of the exhibit was the focal point of the Conference Hall. It’s core purpose was to illustrate Chevron’s Global status by highlighting major areas of current operations and exploration, utilizing the latest technology. The globe was proposed to be produced using one of the following three methods:
Vacuum Formed 3D Illuminated Sphere
The sphere itself will be vacuum formed with a high quality ABS plastic. The Sphere will be mounted to a master frame cut with a 5 axis router. We will then Illuminate the globe with high wattage globes and mount it to a ceiling mounted axis connected to a motor.
Omni Globe
The Omni Globe is one of the most visually appealing digital spherical displays available. It’s Proprietary Enhanced Contrast Screen allows for a high contrast digital video to be projected onto the surface form inside the globe.
3D Hollographic Projection
The sphere can be a digital ‘animated hollogram’ projected to the frontal face of the tower using a clear projection film and a high wattage projector.
