HOW DESALINATION WORKS DISPLAY
The Brief was to design a display to teach school children about the value of saving water and illustrate the lengths in which the Water Corporation are going to, to provide clean drinking water to WA through 'Desalination', the process of making drinking water from seawater.
From a series of documents, the process was simplified and key areas were addressed and illustrated on this giant interactive 3D display. The oversized features were put into bright colours to make it fun and engaging. Giant numbers illustrated how, from 10 glasses of sea water 4 glasses of potable drinking water would be produced. The display had buttons on each section which, when pressed illuminated a part of the process and a voiceover told the audience about its part of the process.
The display was first used at the Perth Royal Show, where it won an award for Design & Presentation, and from there it went to spend the rest of its days in Sci-Tech, Perth.
